Issues currently affecting America:

\n > Credit crunch<\/a><\/strong>.
\n > Housing slump<\/a><\/strong>.
\n > High unemployment rate<\/a><\/strong>.
\n > Deep recession<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Our most pressing issue:
\nHow we, as a nation, feel about our First Lady baring her arms<\/a><\/strong> and what, if anything, we need to do about it. I saw at least three headlines last week about this \u201ccontroversy.\u201d I just did a Google search for \u201cMichelle Obama bare arms\u201d and got 499,000<\/em> results. The New York Times today has an op\/ed piece<\/a><\/strong> on this \u201cissue.\u201d Although, in her defense, columnist Maureen Dowd calls Michelle’s \u201csculpted biceps\u201d a symbol of America’s strength.<\/p>\n

I was talking with The Boyfriend about this, and he pointed out that Michelle Obama is not the only First Lady to bare arms; Jackie Kennedy<\/a><\/strong> occasionally<\/a><\/strong> did, way back in the 1960s.<\/p>\n

President Barack Obama<\/a><\/strong> also created controversy recently when he was photographed in swimming trunks<\/a><\/strong>. On a beach. While he was on vacation. It’s not like he was sitting in the Oval Office<\/a><\/strong>, greeting foreign dignitaries while wearing nothing but a Speedo<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

So, yeah. America clearly needs to do something about our swimsuit-wearing President and his bare-armed wife. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
