The two cats at Ophelia’s Books in Fremont (3504 Fremont Ave. North): In the bottom photo, I love how the cat’s posture reflects the swirls in the rug and the shape of the spiral staircase.

Yes, The Boyfriend’s kitties have their own blog now, Alpha and Beta’s Stinky CatBox. I contribute occasionally — I wrote the CSI post and the fiber post (so far).

“A Purrfect Relaxation Experience”

Posted by in 5 Jan, 2008
in Cats

This morning while The Boyfriend (TB) and I surfed the Internet at different PCs in his computer room, Beta strolled in, made himself comfortable in a box full of castoff stuff (power cords, paperwork, computer disks, etc.) and started purring. I told TB I didn’t know why somebody didn’t make a “white noise” CD of […]

Happy (belated) anniversary, Alpha and Beta!

Posted by in 7 Nov, 2007

The kitties have been living with The Boyfriend for a little more than year now. October of last year: [thumb:1599:l] Last weekend: [thumb:1596:l] As you can see, both kitties have grown a lot. As if one “nursing home cat predicts patients’ death” story isn’t enough this week, King 5 News has a follow up story about Buckwheat, a local cat with the same interesting ability. Bonus: The King 5 URL includes the words “death cats.”

Oscar, the “furry grim reaper”

The Associated Press brings the story (via Seattle’s King 5 News) of Oscar, a cat who lives at a nursing home in Providence, Rhode Island. Oscar apparently can predict death. The feline “harbinger of death” makes daily rounds of Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s dementia unit. Oscar has been known to “sniff and observe […]

The Boyfriend had kittens.

Posted by in 15 Oct, 2006

That is to say, TB adopted kittens. (Either way, better kittens than a cow.) [thumb:1008:c:l=p] Alpha is in back in each of these pictures; Beta is in front. Alpha was so christened because he seemed to be the alpha kitty, hissing whenever TB or another human approached him. When TB told me he had named […]
