(Monday, Sept. 11, 2006)
For today’s adventure, I took the bus into Alameda and walked through R. W. Crown Memorial State Beach/Crab Cove; part of the San Francisco Bay Trail runs through here. I also walked along Alameda Beach. At Crab Cove, I saw a bunch of what turned out to be squirrels. I don’t know exactly what kind of squirrel. They’re different from the brown squirrels I see in Berkeley and from the grey squirrels I see at home (Seattle). They look and move like some squirrel-chipmunk-ferret-prairie dog mutant rodent. (I’ve included one squirrel picture in this album.)

And I had dinner at New World Vegetarian in Oakland.

The weather today was spectacular — sunny and warm. The breeze coming off of the bay kept it from getting too warm during my beach walk.
